A pair of local racing industry youngsters enjoyed success at the Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards.
Tyla Macfarlane, a young racing groom, won the Newcomer Award, sealing £4,000 for herself and her employer.
The 17-year-old has already left an indelible mark at Andrew Balding’s Kingsclere stables.
Known for her bubbly personality and exceptional work ethic, Tyla has been pivotal in preparing Group 1 winner Kalpana.
She was praised for her dedication to self-improvement, demonstrating her commitment to the sport and horses.
Tyla’s colleagues believe she is a rising star, and they couldn’t be prouder to have her on their team.
Simone Meloni, a rider and racing groom at Nicky Henderson's yard, won the Rider/Racing Groom and overall Employee of the Year Awards.
This sealed a £30,000 prize for himself and his colleagues at Seven Barrows stables in Lambourn.
Simone is due to lead up Palladium at the Cheltenham Festival in the Grade One Triumph Hurdle on Friday 14 March.
From his routes in Italian show jumping to his role at Seven Barrows, Meloni’s passion for horses is undeniable.
He is said to be deeply committed to his horses and their welfare, building trusting relationships and riding with exceptional skill.
He was instrumental in the nurturing of top hurdler Marie’s Rock.

Dual Olympic gold medallist Laura Collett MBE was the guest of honour and presented the Employee of the Year Award to Simone. The awards were presented by Rishi Persad.
