Fencer joins British squad for international competition in Austria

FENCER Edgar Hornby has been selected for the British under-17 epee squad to go to the Klagenfurt International competiton in Austria next month and on to Bratislava in January.

The 15-year old from Pamber Heath has had a tremendous seasos, that saw him selected to represent England at under 15 level earlier in the year wnd which culminated recently in winning a bronze medal in the Allstar Senior Mens Cup, and the best cadet award at the Bill Hoskyns Open.

His rankings have shot up from last year, from 49th to 10th in the cadet under 17 group, 58th to 24th at jun ior udner 20 level and from 227 to 53rd in the senior men's rankings.
