Eleven tries and 12 defeats for Blues

League leaders Chinnor win the battle of the 100 per centers to leave Newbury deeper in relegation trouble

THERE was no tearing up the form book as bottom versus top produced the inevitable result as l eague leaders Chinnor swept aside Newbury Blues 67-0 at Monks Lane to maintain their 100 per cent record by running in 11 tries.

The result also preserved Blues' own 100 per cent losing streak, Chinnor taking the lead after only four minutes when prop Joe Winpenny touched down and it was 26-0 by the interval after Richie Williams, Liam Gilbert and Pip Seymour added further scores, James Cathcart kicking three conversions.

The touchdowns came thick and fast after the break with Matt Goode touching down four of them and Henry Colver, Seymour, and Harry Jackman the others while Blues staged a couple of forward drives that came to nothing.
