Calling all budding girls' football stars
Elite Girls Training are hosting three football training taster sessions at Douai Park on August 1, August 15 and August 29 between 6 and 8pm.
The session on August 29 will feature an appearance from Crystal Palace midfielder Leigh Nicol.
Sessions are £5 each and are open to girls between the ages of 6 and 14.
EGT wants to increase the number of girls enjoying football and to create the best possible environment for girls to train, learn and develop.
EGT endeavours to provide academy style training sessions dedicated to producing elite women professionals – the next Beth Mead, Leah Williamson or Lucy Bronze.
From September 2022, EGT will provide girls only training sessions coached by UEFA and FA qualified coaches.
Alex Myers is an FA qualified outfield and goalkeeper coach who also holds FA safeguarding, first aid and talent identification qualifications.
Simon Allen coaches in Thatcham and holds FA safeguarding and first aid qualifications as well as an EE playmaker qualification.
Sammy Burgess, meanwhile, is a well regarded grassroots coach and player who holds an FA level 1 coaching badge.
Aimed at all levels and abilities, these sessions will focus on all aspects of the beautiful game with both group and one-to-one options.
All players will have a chance to train for two hours a week and will receive a report on their progress every six weeks.
There will be opportunities to compete in tournaments and matches linked with professional clubs.
