Kingsclere win award at Old Leamingtons

KINGSCLERE Walking Rugby team played five matches at a recent tournament at Old Leamingtonians RFC.

The club fielded a mixed team and came away with the Good Sportsmanship Award which was voted on by the referees who officiated at the festival.

For the uninitiated, the game is suitable for men and women from 18 to 70-plus.

Walking Rugby is a very easy game to learn, no experience of rugby is needed and can be played with just four players a side.

It’s a great way to exercise, walking as fast or as slow as your body allows with low impact on all your joints, and you don’t need to be fit to play.

The main aim is to enjoy yourself, make some new friends & get a little bit of exercise at the same time.

The club plays mixed games on a Wednesday evening and women’s on a Thursday evening, both at The Fieldgate Centre, Kingsclere between 7-8pm.
