Falkland aim to forget defeat
Skipper George Trewby is looking for an improved performance with the bat against Oxford tomorrow (Saturday)
FALKLAND skipper, George Trewby, is looking for his side to forget about the defeat to Harpenden last time out when they travel to Oxford tomorrow (Saturday).
The West Berkshire side was left to rue a batting collapse that saw six wickets fall for just five runs against Harpenden at Enborne Lodge on Saturday, with Falkland suffering a 53-run defeat from a seemingly winnable position at 157-2.
However, Trewby is looking for his side to forget about the game and move on from what he described as “one of those things.”
He said: “It was disappointing as we bossed it for two-thirds of the game.
“But a silly ten minutes with the bat cost us and we need to now forget what happened, take the positives from the game and move on to the next one.”
However, second-placed Oxford will provide a tough test for Falkland, as they did when they won by 165 runs at Enborne Lodge in the second game of the season.
Trewby said: “We know they are a good side, but we will go there and give it our best shot.
“We are still feeling fairly confident as we have bowled and fielded well in the last few games.”
Falkland are likely to be able to choose from a full strength side this week, with James Morris and Will Challoner likely to be available for the trip to Oxfordshire.
