Falkland look to kick on after victory
Falkland entertain Harpenden tomorrow (Saturday) looking to build on last week's win against Banbury
FALKLAND skipper, George Trewby, has called on his side to “kick on” after finally securing their first league win of the season on Saturday.
Following the 47-run win against Banbury, Falkland go into their home clash with Harpenden tomorrow (Saturday) in confident mood and Trewby is hoping his side can build on the good result to climb the Home Counties Premier League table.
“We have all known we have been getting closer to that win,” he said.
“It can get in your head though when you keep getting the opposition seven or eight down and don't get them out, so I am pleased we overcame that and got the win.”
As a result of the win, Falkland moved above Welwyn Garden City into eighth in the league table and Trewby is hoping Falkland can repeat last week's performance against sixth-placed Harpenden, who visit Enborne Lodge having been bowled out for 55 and 80 in their last two outings.
“I think we can kick on now,” said Trewby.
“If we can take the confidence from last week into this week, then hopefully we can make it back to back wins.”
Falkland are set to make one change from last week's victory, with James Theunissen likely to come in for Jim Ettridge.
