Falkland patch it up
Injuries down the order as Falkland travel to face reigning league champions
FALKLAND testing return to the top flight of the Home Counties Premier League will continue when they take a patched-up side to reigning champions Henley on Saturday.
The latest blow sees Jon Chandler bow out, possibly for the long term, with a knee injury and James Morris, Will Challoner, Jim Etridge, Ollie Green, Ryan Higgins and Theo Cooke are all absent from the side that will face a Henley team bolstered by a number of Berkshire county players.
“It never rains, but it pours,” said Falkland skipper George Trewby, who also has a doubt over all-rounder Bruce Martin, who is still suffering the after-effects of a deep vein thrombosis.
On the plus side, Joel Martin comes in for his first appearance of the season and Tom Heath returns, while Trewby is hopeful that Hampshire's Hamza Riazuddin will be available to stiffen the upper order.
