LEARN MOREFour Year 9 pupils from Pangbourne College have been offered places for Performance Pathways at two top London rugby clubs.
Marcus Evans, Alex Buchanan and Felix Baker have all achieved places on the London Irish Developing Player Programme (DPP) and Zac Alexander has a place on the London Wasps DPP.
The London Irish DPP aims to engage with players aged 12-16 to support their development. With a focus on nurturing skill development, game understanding and athleticism, the programme is designed to help players find the right direction to follow in the game, and can lead to a career in professional rugby.
The London Wasps DPP aims to provide high quality player development experiences, encouraging lifelong participation in the game and enabling those with potential to be clearly identified and supported.
Sam Hewick, Director of Sport, said: “All of these pupils are being supported by our Sports Performance Programme and I’m delighted to see them flourishing.
"Their hard work and determination are already beginning to pay off and this is the start of an exciting journey for them.”
