Frankel adds extra froth

Frankel's appearance has already boosted crowd expectations: "We've taken a lot of advance bookings during the past three weeks on back of Frankel's intended run here," said the racecourse's joing managing director Stephen Higgins.
"But we've known about the possibility for some time and we'll be ready."
Frankel already has form at Newbury, having won the Greenham Stakes last year before going on to success in the 2,000 Guineas. and trainer Sir Henry Cecil has chosen the coursre to bring Frankel back into action following the injury that threatened the horse's career.
The unbeaten Frankel is aiming for win number 10 and will be joined by stablemate Bullet Train, whose inclusion will ensure the race is run at a good pace.
A Group 1 event for four-year-olds and upwards and run over a straight mile, the JLT Lockinge Stakes carries a prize fund of £175,000 and enjoys a rich heritage.
It was inaugurated in 1958 and could not have had a more memorable introduction to the racing calendar as it was won by Her Majesty The Queen's Pall Mall.
Since then landmark wins have been recorded by Brigadier Gerard in 1972 and Kris in 1980, trained by Sir Henry, who won the race again the following year with Belmont Bay, but last tasted success with Prismatic in 1985.
Richard Hannon, Aidan O'Brien and Charlie Hills could all be double-handed with Hannon, who has won the last two stagings of the race, running Dubawi Gold and Strong Suit.
Ireland's top trainer O'Brien will be looking for his first success in the race with Excelebration and So You Think, while Hills is targeting it with Ransom Note and Red Jazz.
In addition to Frankel and some top quality racing action on the second day of the meeting, the Best of British Beer Festival will be staged in conjunction with the West Berkshire Brewery and will serve more than 50 real ales and cider.
