Get involved in Newbury Sunday League

Newbury Sunday League is going from strength to strength, and there’s never been a better time to get involved.

The league is holding two open training days on June 9th and 16th, as they look to increase their pool of players.

The sessions will both run from 6:30pm to 8:00pm, and will take place at City Playground, Andover Road, Newbury, RG14 6LR.

Coaches and organisers from all the Sunday League clubs will be in attendance, keeping a keen eye out for new recruits.

Players will take part in a series of training drills, before a full match at the end of the sessions.

The sessions are open to all aged 16 and over, whether you’re a seasoned player or someone looking to get back into football.

The events are also an opportunity for potential managers, coaches and organisers to meet the league’s committee and representatives from other clubs.

There’s no registration required and anyone can turn up, with friends and family encouraged.

Similar sessions last year saw a number of players join the league’s existing squads, whilst the influx of new players was also used to help build Frilsham, who reached a cup final in their first season.

Last season the league saw five new teams join the league, and it hopes to continue this trend in 2025/26.
