Manager Danny Robinson said, “I felt for the first hour we were the better side but obviously the goals that we conceded, individual mistakes, individual errors, but to go in front on the hour mark as it were I felt we were comfortable.

Probably the most comfortable I’ve ever felt at Bracknell Town.”

“We had to earn our goals but we gave Bracknell six goals, that’s no disrespect to Bracknell because they are a good side, but it was kamikaze defending.”

The game ignited just four minutes in when Joe Grant was fouled in the box, allowing Alfie Pavey to step up and comfortably convert the penalty, gifting the Robins a very early lead.

Hungerford’s response was determined.

On the 25 minute mark, a looping ball from Luke Cairney was headed back across goal by Ty Duffus, enabling Kyle Tooze to grab the equaliser with a header straight into the back of the net.

The Crusaders then seized the initiative eight minutes later, with a perfect Louis McGrory cross, hammered home by Ramarni Medford-Smith to put the visitors 2-1 up.

Bracknell, however, refused to yield, as just five minutes before the interval, a series of great pressing forced a defensive lapse from Hungerford, with Joe Grant volleying home the equaliser, sending the sides into the break level at 2-2.

The second half began with similar intensity.

On the hour mark, Ramarni Medford-Smith collected a square ball in midfield, embarked on a fantastic solo run, and dispatched a laser beam into the top corner from outside the box to restore Hungerford’s narrow lead.

That advantage was short-lived.

Francis Amartey immediately turned past his marker before squaring the ball to Joe Grant, who once again takes it well and adds to his goal tally this afternoon.

Bracknell then took the lead for good in the 73 minute when a nicely played ball down the left released Amartey, who brushed past the opposition and powered a decisive finish past the goalkeeper.

With the visitors desperately pushing for a late equaliser, they were punished on the break.

Teddy Tarbotton was caught out by George Smith, who dispossessed him on the halfway line, surged forward, and slotted past Cairney for Bracknell’s crucial fifth goal.

The Robins made sure to see the game out.

Deep into stoppage time, Giovanni McGregor saw his opportunity to put the game truly to bed, rifling home a sixth from outside the box to seal the emphatic 6-3 scoreline.
