Good vibes guaranteed as Newbury’s Summer Evening Series gets underway

Newbury Racecourse will run a six race card on Thursday 4th July, as their Summer Evening Series kicks off in style, in partnership with Hits Radio.

Action begins with a handicap at 6:10, where 8-year-old Lihou is currently 4/1 favourite, although Hurt You Never also offers good value at 9/2.

The 6:45 is a Fillies’ Novice Stakes, with Havana Dance fancied over Andrew Balding’s Handcuffed, who is ridden by Oisin Murphy and currently at 4/1.

King Of Bears is the favourite in the 7:20 Novice Stakes, whilst Balding’s Spell Master is an interesting prospect.

The handicap at 7:55 sees Hat Toss well backed, whilst Red Maids is down in weight and a highly rated option.

The 8:25 sees a Balding favourite, as See That Storm looks for a second win of his career for the Kingsclere yard.

Finally, its Richard Hannon’s New Kings Road who goes in as the punters’ choice for the final race at 9:00, currently at odds of 5/2

Following the on track action, the paddock will be transformed into a classic British garden party.

Over thirty gins are available, alongside gourmet picnic style food and delightful live music in a beautifully decorated garden setting.

On Thursday 11th, Newbury will run the second event of the series, with the paddock transforming into the “Wild Wild West”, with a night of cowboy themed festivities.

Then it’s all eyes ahead to the Weatherbys Super Sprint Day on Saturday 20th, with Sigala performing live.
