Gosling returns to Hungerford
Bobby Wilkinson has brought back FA Cup hero Jamie Gosling, with Mitchell Bryant moving to Swindon Supermarine
HUNGERFORD TOWN manager Bobby Wilkinson has brought back FA Cup hero Jamie Gosling to the club in a bid to fire them back into the Zamaretto League play-off race after a run of lean results.
Gosling made a surprise return to Bulpit Lane from Swindon Supermarine, where he was the top marksman this season, helping them into the second round proper of this season's competition which including scoring a 4-0 drubbing of Hungerford along the way.
Recent signing Mitchell Bryant moved in the opposite direction and Wilkinson will be hoping that Gosling can find his form quickly, particularly as he has a striker problem for this Saturday's trip to Clevedon Town.
Adam Wallace is out with a broken toe and Richard Bland with a back strain, while midfielder Tom Fila is doubtful with a knee injury and defender Jon Boardman is suspended.
Gosling himself has been recovering from an ankle problem, but Wilkinson will be looking ahead to the player to provide an essential spark.
"I've always been a big fan of his," he said. "He's a wonderful player who can make things happen."
