Horse Racing trainer Harry Dunlop brings the fun with owners group Velocity Racing

Lambourn trainer Harry Dunlop has invited more supporters to join his owners group that combines the thrill of horse racing and group cycling.

The group, which is called Velocity Racing, was originally started by syndicate manager Charlie Corbett and Dunlop, to create a flat horseracing syndicate for those who also enjoyed road cycling.

This year their horse Point Louise, a three-year-old, have them a first, second and third place finish in races.

There are yard visits, day cycle rides as well as attending the races and there is also an annual 3-day cycle ride.

In 2021 the group travelled to Cheshire and visited Tom Dascombe’s stables and went racing at Chester where Point Louise was third.

Previous trips have included travelling to Deauville in France via the D-Day landing beaches with guided tours each day and a speaker; Chantilly via Dieppe visiting stud farms & attending the races and a tour of Monet’s Garden; Yorkshire included Middleham training centre with a private tour of Mark Johnston’s yard.

The cycling is very much aimed to be fun, sociable and safe on quiet roads.

Benefits of the partnership include a visit to Dunlop’s Frenchman Lodge Stables as well as a tour of the Lambourn Gallops.

You will also be able to access tickets to racedays and have behind-the-scenes access to other racing yards.

However, you don’t have to be a cyclist to join as all the activities have an alternate for non-cyclists.

The cost is a one-off payment of £1,000 per annum – 1st November-31st October 2022
