Home comforts as Newbury sign off with a win

Final home game in Hellenic League produces a consolation

Newbury 4 Holyport 2
NEWBURY completed their home Hellenic League programme for this and maybe several seasons with a win that may not be enough to prevent them from finishing in the bottom four in the Premier Division.
Newbury built a two goal lead inside 20 minutes through Jeff Kalejaiye and Dave Parry but had to do it again after goals from Jamie West and Adam Pagert levelled the scores.
But Parry’s second nudged Newbury back in front before the break and young goalkeeper Freddie Gee, pressed into outfield action, netted the decider with 10 minutes to go.
Newbury complete their league campaign at Brimscombe and Thrupp on Thursday night.
