Home run can boost Hungerford's promotion hopes

HUNGERFORD TOWN have a run of eight home matches in their next 10 games that could cement their Evo Stik League Southern promotion hopes.

They play two of those in the space of three days with Kettering Town visiting Bulpit Lane on Saturday and Stratford Town making a similar Hungerford debut on Monday night.

“We’ve just gone away from home and produced one of our best away performances of the season at Bigglswade,” said manager Bobby Wilkinson. “Now we’ve got to get some results at home, where our record has been unbelievable,

Hungerford are without suspended midfielder Scott Rees for Saturday’s game but are otherwise at full strength.

Hellenic League leaders Thatcham make the short hop to bottom four Abingdon United on Saturday before on Tuesday, heading to Flackwell Heath to play their re-scheduled Berks and Bucks Senior Trophy quarter-final tie. Town must also find a new date for their Floodlit Cup tie with Thame United, which was rained off in midweek.

Tadley Calleva also saw their midweek league game at Ringwood Town washed out.

On Saturday they travel to Christchurch before having AFC Stoneham as visitors to Barlows Park on Tuesday night.
