Hungerford can't find a way past lowly Frome

HUNGERFORD played out a disappointing draw with fifth from bottom Frome Town on Saturday.
After a lively start, with Frome’s Darren Chitty making two good saves, the game went downhill, especially in a turgid second half and both sides were forced to settle for a point apiece.
A Stefan Brown header was deflected behind off a defender before Chiity made a great save from the same player.
The Frome 'keeper also did well in dealing with a long throw from Mark Hughes and a cross from Alan O’Brien.
Mark Draycott then tested the Frome keeper but found him in excellent form.. Frome’s lively Kris Miller twice got away on the right but shot wide and then failed to get in decent cross as the first half came to an end mwith the score-sheet still blank.
Hungerford had a set-back when Nick Stanley limped off early in the second half, and things went from bad to worse when Jon Boardman went off with a facial injury and a broken nose.
Hungerford’s re-jigged side never recovered and neither side could seem to build up a threatening attack, although O’Brien burst away on the right but held the ball too long and eventually gave the visitors a goal-kick.
Both sides put in plenty of effort, but could not apply the killer touch and the game drifted away to a disappointing draw.
