Hungerford fight back to beat Thatcham
The West Berkshire rivals met at Bulpit Lane yesterday (Monday)
A SECOND half brace from Hungerford striker Mark Draycott secured all three points for the Crusaders.
Thatcham went into the half time break with a 1-0 lead thanks to a neat finish by winger Carl Self who was played in by Tom Etheridge.
Hungerford felt they had equalised just before the interval when Mark Draycott's shot hit the crossbar and bounced down but the referee adjudged the ball had not crossed the line.
Draycott did open his account after the break when he headed home a cross by Jamie Gosling.
He scored his second in the 62nd minute and despite a number of chances for the away side, Hungerford held on to secure the three points.
Reading were also in action yesterday, hoping to build on their recent fine form which has seen them win six games in seven matches.
However, they came unstuck against Cardiff who were 3-0 up in 36 minutes thanks to goals from Joe Mason, Aron Gunnarsson and Kenny Miller.
Jobi McAnuff scored on the stroke of half time but the second half remained goalless resulting in a 3-1 defeat for the Royals.
