Hungerford hit back for a point

They were rocked at the start when Byron Mason put the home side ahead in the opening minute, and although Mark Draycott cancelled that out on the quarter-hour, Hungerford were 3-1 down inside 10 minutes after Dave Marden netted twice.
Draycott hailed Hungerford back into it when Draycott pounced on an error five minutes after the break, and strike partner Luke Hopper saved a point when he struck the equaliser two minutes from time to retain Hungerford's second place in the Division One South and West table.
It was a performance that angered and then cheered manager Bobby Wilkinson. "We were a goal down in 44 seconds," he said, "and Sholing deserved to be 3-1 up at half-time.
"But frankly, I read the riot act at half-time and they came out and were outstanding. We got our sharpness back and in the end we were unlucky not to win."
Hungerford will hope to take that form into Saturday's game at home to bottom side Stourport Swifts, although Wilkinson is taking nothing for granted. "We only won 4-3 up there thanks to a late goal," he said, "and they will be confident that they could get something."
Wilkinson is hoping to get midfielder Reece Fleet from Oxford City as he loses JP Mills and Jamie Gosling to Australia this week. Mills is emigrating while Gosling is on an extended trip, and Wilkinson has turned to former Birmingham City apprentice Fleet to fill the gap.
