Robinson's dreaming of Wembley arch

Hungerford Town boss Danny Robinson believes his side have what it takes to go all the way to Wembley following the Crusaders 2-1 win over Tamworth in the FA Trophy.

Robinson, who won the FA Vase with Thatcham in 2018, was pleased with his side's battling performance against a Tamworth outfit that are seeking promotion to the National League North.

"The lads stuck to their task, we know what Tamworth are about and we were well prepared for them," he said.

"Sometimes as a manager you just have a good feeling in the week and this week was like that.

"We're one step closer to Wembley and we can go to bed dreaming of that arch.

"This is a special group of players, they work ever so hard for me and I couldn't be prouder, I'd love us to go and win because it's nothing less than the lads deserve."

Robinson made a smart tactical switch at half time, moving Ryan Jones from the right to left hand side so that he could attack Tamworth's right back – and was rewarded when the Bristol Rovers loanee fired Hungerford ahead three minutes after half time.

"Sometimes as a manager, when your luck's in, it's in, thankfully that was the case today," he said.

Hungerford will take on National League North strugglers Farsley Celtic in the last 16, with the tie scheduled to take place at Bulpit Lane on February 11.
