RUGBY: Thatcham claim a County prize with derby win at Henwick

THATCHAM Rugby Club claimed the Berkshire Knock-Out Shield when they beat neighbours Hungerford 41-21 in the final at Henwick.

Hungerford's resistance was broken with full back Ash Taylor running in three tries with Mark Smith (2), Matt Billinghurst and Nick Rance also touching down, Bradley Clough, Dave Cree and a pushover try replying for Hungerford.

Thatcham finished third in the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Premier Division, but Hungerford face a quick relegation after landing at the foot of the table.
