Bowness Trophy revived for a summer Sunday 20-20 thrash

CRICKET: LOCAL cricket clubs have got together to revive the Bowness Trophy, which was once a highlight of the local cricketing season.

The five clubs – who hope to be joined by more – will run the new Bowness 20-20 Trophy competition as a round-robin on Sunday afternoons.

The top four clubs will qualify for a finals day of two semi-finals and the decider to be played on August 14, 2016.

The founding clubs are Falkland, Thatcham, Challow & Childrey, Bucklebury and Donnington and the intention is to expand the competition, modestly in 2016 and further in 2017.
