Jake sparkles on Bonfire Night
Triple record-breaking performance from Newbury swimmer in latest round of club championships
JAKE Jezzard put in a trio of explosive bonfire night performances to break three Newbury Swimming Club records in the third round of this year's club championships.
The 16-year old set off with a win in the punishing 400 metres individual medley in 4 minutes 49.95 seconds, going on to break Daniel Morris' 15-year old record for the 200m backstroke in 2:13.63 and ropunding off the evening with a sub-60 second 55.50 performance in the 100m freestyle.
Eight records fell on the night with Zara Ryan scoring in the 400m individual medley in 5:10.29 and 100m freestyle in 1:02.49, and Louise McFadzen also breaking two record swin the 400m individual medley in 5:17.70 and 200m mackstroke in 2:25.39.
James McFadzen also set a new standard in the 200m backstroke of 2:32.88.
