NOVEMBER Southern League team of the month Hungerford kicked off December with a win that hoisted them into third place in the table in advance of Tuesday night’s trip to leaders Poole Town.
It was Nat Jarvis who was their match-winner against his former club, netting his 12th and 13th goals of the season, his second the winner eight minutes from time.
He had gone close before heading Hungerford into the lead after 16 minutes, although the home side replied five minutes later through James Mortimer-Jones, and the hosts went ahead early in the second half when Zack Jotwica was brought down, and although Paul Strudley saved Charlie Griffin’s penalty, Ross Langworthy potted the rebound.
Hungerford had a goal ruled out before pulling level through Stefan Brown, and Jarvis was again on target with his head to make it 10 without defeat for The Crusaders.
