Jersey date for Leonora
Fencer represents England in Junior Commonwealth Championships
FENCER Leonora Mackinnon will be aiming her epee at some of the best in the world when she represents England in the Junior Comonwealth Championships in Jersey next week.
The 17-year old is in her first season as a junior but will go to Jersey seeded seventh in the 36-strong women's indiviudal epee event.
Top fencers from throughout the Commonwealth are competing, although the top two seeds are Leonora's England team-mates Amy Radford and Caitlin Chang.
The St. Gabriel's girl, who is already ranked numebr 233 in the world, will also be a member of the England group in the team event at St Helier's Fort Regent Leisure Centre.
She competes in the individual competition on Tuesday, February 14.
