KD gymnasts soar to success




It's been a triumphant month for the athletes at KD Gymnastics across a range of disciplines and competitions.

Six KD gymnasts competed at the Southern Regional Grading.

Fiona Karlsson finished 3rd overall. She topped the standings on Range and Conditioning and came 2nd on Beam.

She'll travel to Nationals in a couple of weeks time to take her Elite Compulsory 2 grading full of confidence.

Lily Weston passed her Elite Compulsory 4 grading in elegant fashion. She was 7th overall and took home 4th placed ribbons on both Range and Conditioning and Bar.

It was double delight for the Longhursts. Lottie passed her Elite Compulsory 4 grading, while Chloe passed her National Grade 4.

Daisy Ruane-Stuart performed gracefully to pass her National Grade 3.

There was more success to come. Seven of KD's gymnasts were selected to join the Berkshire County Squad.

Elsewhere, KD's Advance Recreational gymnasts returned from the Southern Regional Floor and Vault competition with a stellar haul of 10 medals and 11 ribbons.

In the 14+ Category, Sophie Bhatt was unbeatable. She won 1st place on both Floor and Vault.

In the U14 Category, Tille Bell won 1st place on Vault and Third place on Floor.

Also at U14, Nia Leacock came 2nd on Vault.

An impressive showing from Libby Jackman saw her win 1st place on Floor and 4th on Vault.

Ashton O'Donoghue finished in 5th on Vault and 6th on Floor.

In the U12 Category, Malachi Stevenson finished 4th on both Floor & Vault while Izzy Davey was joint 4th on Vault and 5th on Floor.

In the U10 Category, Milly Davies came 2nd on Vault and 5th on Floor.

Meanwhile, Scarlett Rimmer finished 2nd on Vault and 3rd on Floor, Florence Hayes came 2nd on Floor and 4th on Vault and Eleanor Thompson came tied 4th on Vault.

65 KD gymnasts will descend on Milton Keynes to compete at the International Roses event on Sunday, 29th May. Let's hope it leaves them somersaulting in delight.
