Last minute winner for Hungerford

Ryan Crockford helped extend Hungerford's unbeaten run to six games with a 1-0 win over Yate Town on Saturday

A LAST-minute winner from Ryan Crockford kept Hungerford in the Zamaretto League play-off zone with a 1-0 win at Yate Town on Saturday.

Crockford pounced to fire home a last-gasp free kick after Hungerford had been kept at bay by Yate goalkeeper Lubos Ankin.

It was a game of few clear-cut chances and not settled until the closing stages when Hungerford were awarded a free kick just outside the box and Crockford stepped up to fire the ball low and hard past Ankin.

It stretched Hungerford's unbeaten run to six games, and they put that back on the line tomorrow night (Tuesday) when they entertain the Gosport side one place beneath them in the Division One South and West table.
