Lauren Bell retains place in Southern Brave squad for The Hundred competition in summer
Lauren Bell has retained her place in Southern Brave’s squad for this summer’s The Hundred competition.
The 21-year-old played a pivotal role for Brave in last year’s competition, taking a total of 12 wickets – including two in the final against Oval Invincibles.
Although Brave failed to go all the way last summer, Bell made a huge impression and has been rewarded with appearances for her country this year.
Last month, the former Bradfield College student was promoted into the England women’s Ashes squad from the England A squad.
In a warm-up against England’s senior team in Australia, the pace bowler took 3-35, before claiming 3-17 in a T20 against Australia A.
Earlier this month, Bell was named as one of two reserve players in England's team for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
Further to her performances with Brave, she took five wickets in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and nine in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for the Southern Vipers.
