Former Hungerford player Lauren Bell ready for The Hundred with Southern Brave
Former Hungerford Cricket Club player Lauren Bell will be part of Southern Brave’s squad for this summer’s The Hundred competition, which started on Wednesday (yesterday).
The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales and is taking place this summer after being postponed in 2020.
Bell and her Southern Brave teammates, who are coached by former England captain Charlotte Edwards, begin their tournament against Trent Rockets on Saturday.
Despite being 20-years-old, Bell has a vast amount of experience which includes helping Southern Vipers to success in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy last summer.
Like the Vipers, Brave play at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton and it’s a ground that Bell has plenty of experience with.
All the games across the tournament will be televised on Sky Sports and there will be double header fixtures with the men and women teams playing on the same day.
