Marksman Davies back in Town ranks
New faces in abundance as Thatcham prepare for kick-off
THATCHAM TOWN have snatched back prolific marksman Ian Davies from Binfield in time for the start of their Hellenic League campaign at Kidlignton on Saturday.
But Davies - who made his Thatcham debut as a youngster in 2002 - will have to wait to take his second bow as he serves a two-match suspension.
But his signing boosts Town’s strike force, which also incldued summer arrivals Marcus Mealing and Josh Helmore as well as a number of other new arrivals and a few returning faces.
Thatcham went through pre-season unbeaten, but says co-manager Gareth Thomas: “Pre-season means absoutely nothing. But we know what we want to do and that’s be around the top six at Christmas and if we’re in touch, we’ll re-evaluate.”
Thatcham will also be without Yashwa Romeo and Chris Gerrard through suspension, and Thomas himself misses out with a knee injury that could keep him out for up to eight weeks.
