Marley up for semi-final challenge

Former kick boxer awaits Thames Valley ABC boxer in ABAE Senior semi-finals

MARLEY Churcher will be fighting for a place in the final of the ABAE Senior Championships when he faces highly-rated West London boxer Deion Jumah in Saturday's semi-final at Dagenham Park School in Essex.

Jumah was last year's beaten finalists and has since gone on to represent England against Northern Ireland, while harbouring hopes of a professional career.

But Churcher's Thames Valley ABC coach Paul Cooke believes that his fighter can pull off a surprise against the former kick boxer.

“I'm confident,” he said. “Marley's got the experience and he's got the movement to grace the bigger ring.

“Marley's been doing well in training. He's in good shape and moving well, and I think we can go in there and cause a shock.”
