Team Kennet Quadkids back in action




Team Kennet Quadkids were in action in their second Wessex League match of the season at Andover on Sunday.

Team Kennet had seven under-11 girls and seven under-11 boys taking part.

All the competitors performed well as Team Kennet finished fourth overall.

The boys team finished third overall - Malik Gaye was the standout performer as he placed fifth in the individual standings.

Gaye's best event was the 600m with a time of 2.02.6.

Elliot Bell scored 177 points.

His best event was the vortex throw - 23.30m.

There were impressive debuts for Ronny and Rudy Bowsher who both scored well and starred in the 600m.

The girls finished fourth overall.

Debutant Matilda Clare was top scorer for Team Kennet with 156 points, finishing 11th overall.

Clare clocked 2.11.12 in the 600m, just behind Quinn Joyce who finished in 2.09.9.

In the 75m sprint, Clare finished in 12.1s, closely followed by Penelope Lyth in 12.4s.

Isla Ladds was Kennet's best long jumper, leaping 2.78m, just ahead of Lyth, 2.68m.

There were also fantastic performances from Ella McDonald, Harriet Saunders and Elora Murray.
