Lean run ends as Newbury resume title challenge

NEWBURY take on Rayners Lane at Faraday Road on Saturday having ended their lean spell with last week's 3-1 win at Letcombe.

Rob Panting netted on his debut and his set to keep his place in the side as Newbury face a Lane side tucked just behind them in the Hellenic League Division One East table in fourth place.

"We have to give them respect because of their position," said manager Steve Melledew, "but they should be fearing us, not the other way around."
