Hellenic Leaguers kick off with a new manager and a mix of old and new names

NEWBURY have two successive home games to start their new Hellenic League Division One East campaign.

They kick off against Finchampstead on Saturday and have Woodley Town as visitors on Tuesday night as they look to improve upon last season's third-place finish.

"Pre-season has been very good for us," said new manager Steve Melledew. "We have a good squad and competition for places."

Newcomers Jeff Kalejaiye and goalkeeper Jamie Thomas have already made their mark in pre-season, joining the heart of last season's squad including Jason Peters, Jamie Green, Kalief Madden and Darren Jones, and Luke Mason.

LAMBOURN SPORTS return to Hellenic League football with two away games, at Penn and Tylers Green on Saturday and at Milton United on Monday.
