Newbury maintain challenge at the top

Newbury defeated Farnborough Town Reserves 4-2 to maintain their challenge at the top of the league

NEWBURY scored a 4-2 win at Farnborough Town Reserves to maintain their challenging spot in Division One East of the Uhlsport Hellenic League.

They fell behind after only five minutes to a goal from Louis Wilson but it needed only a minute for Harry Goodger to net the leveller.

Kalief Madden put Newbury ahead midway through the first half and they held that lead until Jordan Merriman tied it up 10 minutes after the break.

But two goals in the space of five minutes from Danny Collins and Jamie Green gave Newbury a cushion they were able to hold comfortably to the end.
