A thumping home win over promotion rivals Milton helped Newbury into second place in the league table
NEWBURY surged into second place in the Hellenic League's Division One East as they swamped promotion rivals Milton at Faraday Road.
Newbury led with Shaun Thorp's 40th minute goal at the turnaround but surged clear with three in the space of 15 second half minutes from Callum Willmoth, Darren Jones and Thorp's second.
Paul Sanders pulled one back for Milton, but Jones' second completed the scoring.
