Nicholls wins Donnington Grove Pro-Am
Donnington Grove PGA assistant golf professional Max Nicholls shot a three-under-par 69 (39 points), to hold off a high class field and win the Orchard & Garner Osborne Donnington Grove Pro-Am for the second year running at the end of season Berks Bucks and Oxon Event.
On the stiff and testing layout measuring just under 7000 yards, he won by two shots from in-form Adam Wootton from Aylesbury and by three from Donnington Grove's teaching professional Nick Mitchell.
The win followed a recent run of good form over the last few months where he had finished seventh in the PGA National Assistants Championship and made cuts in two prestigious Southern Order of Merit tournaments, finishing 15th in the Kent Open and 18th in the Southern Open.
The Team event was won by Richings Park professional Colin Ancsell and his team of David Briance, James Stedman and Nick Smith, who shot 15-under-par to finish two shots clear of Donnington Grove's teaching professional Dan Seymour and his team of James Smith, Giles Bennet & Jazz Kang.
