OFF! Game with Paulton washed out

League game gets the shake of the head at Bulpit Lane

HUNGERFORD TOWN'S hopes of moving into second place behind Poole Town in the EvoStik League Southern's Premier Division were scotched when the scheduled fixture with Paulton Rovers tonight was postponed.

The Bulpit Lane surface is awash down the middle with little prospect of improvement and the game was called off early to save the visitors from travelling.

Hungerford had injury doubts concerning Jon Boardman and James Clark but were keen to continue their unbeaten streak against a Rovers side that lies second to bottom in the table with only one win from 19 matches - at home to Chesham 10 days ago - but which was turned over 4-0 at Stratford Town on Saturday.
