Paddling chance for the big regatta
Organised by the Goring Gap Boat Club, the crews will be tackling a short sprint course on the Thames at Streatley Farm, just above Cleeve Lock, on the Streatley side of the River.
The Regatta will also feature a fun fair, live music, beer and craft tents, stalls, classic cars and a performance arena. Last year’;s event was baten by the weather, but more than 3,000 attended the 2011 event.
The more experienced rowers will compete on courses of up to 500 metres but the novice crews will be encouraged ot attend training, which is included in the entry fee and is given in the weeks leading up to the Regatta on weekday evenings.
Events include coxed fours, single sculls, Paddling Punts, dinghies and canoes. There are races for men, women and mixed crews, and events for juniors and children.
