Pangbourne run them in for county crown




Rugby under 15s seal it with success at Maidenhead

PANGBOURNE Colleges under 15 team scored a fitting 15th win of the season to be crowned Berkshire Cup winners at Maidenhead on Friday.

A 39-7 win over Pigott School in the final capped a cup campaign that had seen them past Park House, Leighton Park and Reading schools before accounting for Pigott with three tries from Ethan Walters; two from Finlay Rossiter and one apiece from Arslan Dzhumamuradov and Louis Winter to secure Pangbourne’s first under 15 county title since 1997.

The team scored a total of 107 tries over the campaign, led by number eight Finlay Rossiter, with centre Ethan Walters touching down 39 of them.

The trophy was presented by London Irish Academy manager Patrick O'Grady skipper Rossiter.

The Pangbourne squad included Daniel Atkins, Jude Beebee, Archie Coltart, Will Donegan, Harrison Doyle, Arslan Dzhumamuradov, Angus Hearnden, Tomas Hessian, Peter Hyde, Oliver Newbery, Finlay Rossiter, Max Sharpe-Matthews, Rowan Shields, Elliot Teague, Luca van der Wyck, Fergus Walker, Ethan Walters, Nick White, Wills Wildern and Louis Winter.
