Ray at the double

VETERAN Ray Powell scored a one-two in the Newbury Senior Championships when he reclaimed his men's title and retain the veterans crown.
And there was also a treble success for ladies champion Denise Weller in the singles and doubles.
Powell, the 2009-10 men's champion, had to see off favourite and top seed Sander De Riemer in the final, and Peter Matthews in a close veterans decider.
The ladies singles saw Denise Weller hold on to her title by beating 2009-10 champion Celia Hooker in the final before the pair teamed up to beat Christine Milne and Jenny Tanner in the doubles.
Finally, she won the mixed doubles alongside Patrick Garlick against runners-up Ron Powell and Celia Hooker.
