And Chester sets new Team Kennet best in 600m




TWO new Team Kennet club records were set at the Oxford Development League match at Banbury,

The under-11 boys 4x100m relay team broke a 21-year-old club record with a flying run of 61.6 seconds in their first outing together.

And Chester Bailey smashed his own 600m record for the second match in a row.

There was a double win for Isla Ladds in the under-13 girls discus with a throw of 20.27 and shot 7.05, and she also helped the 4×100 relay team to victory.

Ella Larkin won the 800m in 2.29 and the 100m B string, while Matilda Claire picked up some great points in the 100m, 300m and in the javelin with 23.99m.

Elodie Burdett ran a great race in the 1500m, coming second in 5.38, and more points came from Ayla Wyvil, who threw 9.13m in the discus, and Ella MacDonald in the 200m and in the javelin. 1

Affra Bailey cleared 1.20m in the high jump and threw 5.41m in the shot of 5.41, while Quinn Joyce won the high jump B string with 1.15m.

In the under-15 girls. Harriet Saunders won the 1500m in 4.55, long jump with 3.61m and the 300 m in 47.4.

Emerald Hill Sawyer clocked 14.2 in the 100m and 29.9 in the 200m and took a great win in the long jump with 4.10m.

Olivia Bentley secured a B string win in the 100m in 14.1, and also took the A string win in the 300m and 800m.

There were some great wins out on the field, with Ella Cronk taking the discus (12.64m) and shot (5.69m).

Tanishi Banerjee took the discus win with 20.78m, but then had to withdraw due to injury.

Team Kennet only fielded one girl in the under-17 section, but Zoe Dickson. won the discus with 22.74m and the shot with 7.74m.

Again, in the under-17 boys William McDonald was the lone TK entrant, but he threw 40.48m to win the javelin.

The under-15 boys did well, Oliver Hook taking first place in the discus with 29.07m – 12 metres clear of second place – and he won the shot with a throw of 11.04m.

The relay team took second place in a time of 54.2, while Oliver Young was second in the 100m in 12.12. and clocked 25.8 in the 200m.

Harry Smith picked up some great points on the track in the 300m and 800m, while Frank Edwards won the B string 800m in 2.28 and 300m in 45.5.

In the the under-13 boys, Jensen Nichols picked up a second in the 100m in13.6 and then claimed first place in the javelin with 33.47m and discus (6.93m).

Alfie Cronk won the B string discus and was second in the shot with 6.13m, while Sam Atkins won the high jump with 1.40m and was second in the long jump (4.18m) and Josh Bailey won the B string javelin in 21.00 m.

Team Kennet QuadKids were also in action, with the under-9 girls and under-11 girls and boys all winning their age groups.

The boys under-9s were third, but Rory Ridler was the overall winner.
