Royals start at home
Brian McDermott will pitch jhis charges against Tony Pullis and his Potters, whoi hope to parade Michael Owen from Manchester United at the start of a campaign that sees Royals continue with a first away trip to Sunderland a week later.
September provides early season highlights with fixtures aginst European champions Chelsea, Spurs and Alan Pardew’s Newcastle while league champions Manchester City are not at Reading until the penultimate week of the season, before Royals conclude their campaign at West Ham on May 19.
