Having broken their duck when claiming the title for the first time in 2011, they struck again last year but Saturday’s success was the most convincing yet with all six of the scoring team finishing in the top 12 places as Newbury finished 75 points clear of the rest.
Tom Watkins was the team’s leading runner when he narrowly missed out on second place by just two seconds to earn the bronze medal.
Team Kennet’s Helen Preedy and Sam Hart were also amongst the medals, claiming bronze awards in the senior ladies and under 13 boys races respectively, while Harriet Chettleburgh’s fifth spot in the senior ladies race earned her the top award for veterans.
