Sa in and Catt's farewell
The powerful six-foot plus Sa can play at centre or back row and will be returning to his Union roots.
He was a schoolboy union star with Sydney Roosters in 2006 before moving on to Super League and Catalan Dragons in 2010.
He has a good try-scoring record of 13 tries in 66 games for the Roosters and 10 in 39 games for the Dragons. A dual rugby league international, he has been capped three times by New Zealand, helping them to win the world championship title in 2008, and he also has five caps for Samoa.
Brian Smith, London Irish’s Director of Rugby said: “There’s no doubt about it, Setaimata is an exciting and wonderfully skilful player and we’re delighted that he will be joining the squad next season.
"I have followed his NRL and Super League career very closely and we’ve needed to replace Seilala Mapusua in midfield for some time now and Sa fits the bill perfectly."
Meanwhile, England-bound Mike Catt signs off for Exiles in their Aviva Premiership closer with Gloucester at the Madejski Stadium on Saturday before taking up his new coaching role with England.
