Season to remember for unbeaten Cold Ash girls

Cold Ash Boys & Girls FC are celebrating a remarkable achievement after their Under 15 Girls team stormed to the Berkshire County Girls Football League Division 3 title, completing the entire league season unbeaten.

The Avengers, sponsored by local IT firm Advoco Solutions, combined attacking flair with defensive resilience, scoring 50 goals across the campaign while conceding just nine, a record that underlines their dominance at both ends of the pitch.

Two standout performances defined their season.

In a crucial away clash against title contenders Finchampstead Reds, Cold Ash delivered a clinical 4-0 victory, sending a strong message to the rest of the league.

Equally memorable was their dramatic comeback against Sandhurst Warriors, where the team showed remarkable character to claw back a 2-0 half-time deficit and earn a vital draw.

Leading the line for the Avengers were Maisie Brindley and Lucie Ward, who together netted nearly 40 goals in all competitions, terrorising opposition defences throughout the season.

Head coach David Papworth praised the team’s determination and unity:

“Every single player has played a crucial role,” he said.

“They’ve worked hard, supported each other, and never backed down from a challenge.

“Going unbeaten is a massive achievement and something they should all be incredibly proud of.”

The victory caps off another memorable season for Cold Ash Boys & Girls FC, a thriving community club now home to nearly 25 teams and more than 300 players across boys’ and girls’ football.

The club’s commitment to developing young talent continues this summer, with a series of FREE Summer Soccer Schools for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 running across May and June.
