Seven-race card at Newbury Racecourse on Tuesday

Newbury Racecourse presents its latest Flat card, consisting of seven races, on Tuesday evening, featuring a valuable fillies’ novice race.

Read below for a preview of the Newbury card courtesy of Racing TV, who offer the latest horse racing free bets offers.

The evening’s action begins with an apprentice handicap run over a mile and three furlongs (5.40).

Dibble Dabble won last time out under the same rider, Fred Daly, and - a consistent sort - shouldn’t have too much to prevent her from doing so once more, but shoulders much more weight this time.

Boy George seeks a hat-trick and looks likely to be involved, having only been lightly penalised for his last victory, but the consistent Mrembo for the in-form Jonathan Portman stable is the fresher horse and may prove the best on the day.

Next is a six-furlong two-year-old fillies’ novice race (6.15). Only five of the 15 runners have previously performed, the best of which being Stardinia, whose existing form is stacking up strongly, while Richard Hannon’s Sinj, a daughter of Too Darn Hot, is useful having placed on each of her three starts to date.

With a number of the debutants here looking to be more suited to longer races later in the season, Stardinia ought to be able to get to the front this time.

Another two-year-old fillies’ novice follows; this time a valuable Class Two contest over seven furlongs (6.45). Four of the 10 runners have prior form, setting a very strong standard.

John and Thady Gosden’s Miss Honey won her debut on the all-weather at Kempton for Godolphin and is from a precocious and consistent family, so should have it all to play for. Kaori should be smart on debut for George Boughey and could take a place.

The fourth race is a two-mile handicap (7.15). Reverting to the Flat having been hurdling in the spring, Kitty Foyle could be involved here after a short break, given her usual consistency in this code, but may not have the speed of David Simcock’s Clockmaker in the closing stages, who won his second last start on similarly quick ground at Doncaster.

Race five is a straight seven-furlong three-year-olds’ handicap (7.45).

Adelaide Bay seeks a hat-trick, having won his last two starts on the all-weather, but his turf form leaves something to be desired.

Newmarket-based trainer Harry Eustace’s yard is in excellent form, and therefore his Mr Ubiquitous - who has won three of his last four starts - should be at the sharp end once again. Given seven pounds by rider Jack Nicholls, he should have nowhere to hide.

Our penultimate race is a seven-furlong handicap for older horses, again on the straight track (8.15). Both Follow Your Heart and Mister Mojito won their last starts, with the former carrying a penalty.

Jonathan Portman’s Strike looks a very likely candidate with a seven-pound claimer aboard, having only been beaten a length last time out over a furlong shorter, and might improve for the extra furlong today, but Kevin Frost’s well-proven Stratocracy looks due a win from a workable mark.

The finale is a six-furlong handicap (8.50). In first-time blinkers, Moby Quick could be a player now that he has dipped down a further pound in the handicap, but Phoenix Moon might prove to be more reliable for Denis Coakley under Rob Hornby, now back down to a more realistic mark having finished mid-field last time out at Ascot.
