Southern League re-shuffle, part 2
The high-flying Northern Premier League club tendered their resignation from the league this week when its prime backer withdrew, but a meeting of supporters and members rallied the cause and the club asked for the resignation to be withdrawn.Meanwhile, Wingate and Finchley had been told they would avoid relegation from the Isthmian League’s top flight as a result and clubs would be re-shuffled.That has now been done, and Hayes and Yeading will move from the Isthmian to the Southern Premier Division, and Corby Town, who were due to go to the Northern Premier League, will revert to the Southern Premier. And to even the numbers, Stourbridge and Halesowen Town will head north from Southern to Northern Premier.Meanwhile, Hayes and Yeading have appealed against their relegation from the Conference South and if they are successful, that could see Oxford City drop into Hungerford Town’s division.
