St Gabriel’s pupil takes Squash crown in Luxembourg
A St Gabriel’s School pupil has claimed victory at the prestigious Luxembourg Junior Squash Open.
Year 9 pupil, Aditi, won the Girls’ U15 category at the CK Sportcenter in Kockelscheuer earlier this month.
Entering the tournament as the top seed, Aditi delivered a commanding performance throughout, winning every match without dropping a single game.
The tournament featured 85 participants in total, with eight players competing in the U15 girls’ division — a competitive field that Aditi navigated with skill and composure.
Currently ranked 5th in England and 15th in Europe in the Girls’ U15 category, Aditi has established herself as a rising star in junior squash.
Her high standing in both circuits is particularly impressive, as few players regularly compete across both domestic and European events.
Aditi’s success is the result of a demanding training schedule, which sees her play or train nearly every day of the week.
She trains with Alex Phillips in Winchester and Ben Rossec in Abingdon, alongside regular sessions with her father.
Aditi also represents three clubs — Aldermaston, Winchester, and Abingdon — in their respective county leagues and competes in both junior and adult graded events.
"Aditi’s commitment and passion for squash are truly remarkable,” said Head of Sport at St Gabriel’s, Simon James.
“She sets an outstanding example for her peers and continues to impress with her achievements at both national and international level."
